9/11 Victim Compensation Fund Attorney Daniel Hansen of Turley, Hansen and Partners appeared on the Fox Network this past Saturday to discuss Friday's announcement that certain cancers will be included under the James Zadroga Act.

Mr. Hansen shared his thoughts regarding the relief so many of his current 9/11 cancer clients now have given that the their health care coverage for 9/11 related cancers will now be covered 100% by the Zadroga Act.  He also expressed his concern that the Zadroga Act may now be seriously underfunded given the addition of cancer and that awards from the Victim Compensation Fund, absent additional money from Congress, may be decreased across the board.

The full ramifications of including cancers under the World Trade Center Health Program and the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund are yet to be seen.  It will certainly impact the procedural filing of claims with the Victim Compensation Fund. Unfortunately, it is likely to slow the process for all potential claimants since the Fund has a limited staff and resources.

We will continue to report developments with WTC cancers the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund as they become known.
