9/11 Fire Department Hero Loses Battle with WTC Related Cancer
A FDNY hero who led his fellow firefighters out of the World Trade Center North Tower just before it collapsed, saving countless lives, has lost his battle with 9/11 related bone marrow cancer at age 51. He had just recently received a bone marrow transplant after years of searching for a donor, and was hopeful that the procedure would lead to a recovery.
